What Are Fish Oils?
Fish oil is oil taken from the tissues of oily fish. Fish oils contain many important nutrients for brain health and cognitive function including the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which are known to have many health benefits. These fatty acids are believed to support heart health, help reduce cholesterol levels, support immune health and reduce inflammation. Much research has shown fish oils can help the parts of the brain important for memory and thinking skills. If oily fish is not consumed enough in the diet, supplementation may be necessary.
